(Centro Cultural La Malagueta)

Some months ago, here on the blog of Hotel Yaramar we informed you that this year is the 50th anniversary of the death of Picasso, so because of this there will be several exhibitions in Malaga city with Picasso as main topic.

This week in fact, we would like to recommend the last exhibition about Picasso that has landed in Malaga.

It is called “Picasso and the Golden years of the Côte D’Azur” and can get visited from the 24th of February to the 30th of July in the bullring, in Centro Cultural de La Malagueta, in Paseo de Reding.

Its opening times are from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 A.M to 2:00 P.M and from 5:00P.M to 8:00 P.M, and the access to the exhibition room is through door number 9 of the bullring.

The exhibition includes 142 photos by Irish photographer Edward Quinn, who lived in the Côte d’Azur in the 50s and captured brilliantly his friend Picasso many times with his camera.

Quinn’s photos capture perfectly in a spontaneous way the energy of Picasso and his personality, as well as his everyday life: his friends, his family, his town and his works…

The exhibition is divided in 4 sections, one exclusively about Picasso and the other 3 where Quinn captures in his photos the time when Picasso lived in the Côte D’Azur, when right after the Second World War the popular French coast became the favourite destination of celebrities and millionaires like Winston Churchill, Liz Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Alfred Hitchcock, Grace Kelly, Sofia Loren, Orson Welles or Marlon Brando.

If you are considering coming Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, soon and you also love Picasso we recommend not to miss the opportunity to visit this photography exhibition to know the most famous of our artists even better.
