Last week, here on the blog of Hotel Yaramar, your Hotel en Fuengirola we told you about the beautiful Botanical Gardens of Torremolinos.

Today we would like to continue talking about Torremolinos to recommend you one the most stunning and less known attractions in Costa del Sol.

Have you ever gone to Torremolinos, seen a beautiful building from the distance while having a walk along the Bajondillo Beach and have wondered what is it?

This small palace is known as La Casa de Los Navajas and was declared as Historical monument by the Andalusian Government.

It was built around 1925 by entrepreneur Antonio Navajas, was acquired by the Torremolinos Council in 2000 and it opened its doors to the public in 2014 after being restored.

Nowadays this beautiful 2-floor Moorish style revival little palace can be visited every day, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00P.M.  and its entry is free.

Molino De Inca Botanical Gardens

Last week here on the blog of Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, we recommended you go to Mijas Pueblo to visit a fantastic exhibition about Japan.

Today we would like to continue with the Japanese theme as we would like to recommend you the Molino de Inca Botanical Gardens, some beautiful botanical gardens in Torremolinos that contain a stunning 500 square metre Japanese garden.

The Japanese garden inside the botanical gardens reproduces a gardened area with hillocks and lakes characteristic of the land of the rising sun, known there as Tsukiyama.

Molino de Inca Botanical Gardens are about 4 hectares in extent and are located in Torremolinos, very close to Aquapark and the Crocodile Park.

In there you can find around 400 different bushes, 150 species of palm tree and more than 300 trees, many of them over a century old.

Water is very important in these gardens as there are many fountains, springs and even a lake with some beautiful aquatic plants, fish and even birds. There are also some viewpoints, bird cages with exotic species, a labyrinth and some beautiful marble statues. All this makes it a beautiful spot to take pictures and the perfect place to relax and rest. 

Molino de Inca Botanical Gardens are open from 10:30 A.M to 2:00 P.M and from 4:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. The entry is 3 euros, though children and senior citizens visit for free.

We certainly do recommend you make the most of your holiday at Hotel Yaramar by visiting Torremolinos and discovering one of the best hidden gems in Costa del Sol.

Exhibition about Japan in CAC Mijas

At Hotel Yaramar we are aware many of you quite like art, so because of this we frequently use this blog to recommend you some of the many great exhibitions we have the fortune to have available in Costa del Sol.

Today is one of these occasions as since the 30th of November and until the 27th of February CAC Mijas is housing a very interesting exhibition called “Japan: Culture and Tradition”.

This exhibition is on display in Exhibition Room number 2 of CAC Mijas and its purpose is to celebrate the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relationships between Spain and Japan.

In CAC Mijas now, you can see many beautiful engravings in rice paper from the 19th Century by some of Japan’s most famous artists.

These works show Japanese everyday life scenes and several characters like emperors, samurais and geishas.

Apart from the engravings there is also a crystal urn with a “kabuto”, which is a type of helmet used by ancient Japanese warrior, as well as a “katana”.

As we have said in previous blogs when we have recommended CAC Mijas, this museum is in the centre of Mijas Pueblo, in calle Malaga, and it is open Monday to Saturday from 10 P.M to 6 P.M.

CAC Mijas is a very popular museum in Costa del Sol. Its regular entry price to access all facilities of the museum is 3 euros, and the price for groups and over 65s is only 2 euros.
