Last week here on the blog of Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, we shared with your the recent opening of the fantastic Pompidou Malaga Museum.
Today we would love to recommend you another recently opened art centre in Malaga: The Russian Museum.
This was inaugurated on the 25th of March, only 3 days before the Pompidou, and contains a stunning year long art exhibition with pieces dated from the 15th to the 20th Century.
The building that homes this new museum is a construction very well known by locals and with lots of history as in the old times it was the cigar factory of Malaga.
The Tabacalera building as it is known was built in the 20s and has stayed closed for many years. Now after big refurbishment works it has become the first overseas branch of the State Russian Museum of St. Petersburg.
Being an old factory this museum is not right in the city centre, though as it is right beside the Automobile Museum of Malaga you can make the most of it by visiting both.
Up to the 15th of June its opening times are from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30A.M to 8:00 P.M. The price of its entry will depends on if we access all exhibitions or just the permanent or temporary ones. Its regular price is 8.00€ and the reduced one 4.00€, being this last one applicable to over 65s.
Like the new Pompidou Centre, the Russian Museum also offers free visits on Sunday from 4.00 P.M, so Sundays seem to be the perfect day to explore beautiful Malaga.
If you are currently on holiday with us and you had no plans for Sunday, now after reading this post you might have.
Enjoy the many amazing leisure possibilities the city of Malaga offers!
