This week on the blog of Hotel Yaramar we bring back our section about natural landscapes in the Malaga area.
Our recommendation this time is Los Gaitanes Gorge Protected Natural Area.
Los Gaitanes Gorge is a canyon created by river Gualhorce in inland Malaga, between the towns of Ardales, Álora and Antequera.
In Los Gaitanes Gorge is where “El Caminito del Rey” (The King’s Pathway”) is located. This is a walkway pinned along the walls of the narrow gorge of El Chorro.
This amazing walkway is more than 3 kilometres long, was closed for over 25 years as it had fallen into disrepair, but after a lot of renovation works it opened again to the public in 2015.
“El Caminito” is about 1 hour away by car from our hotel and since its reopening 3 years ago it has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Malaga.
If you would like more information about this beautiful place or you would like to book a visit please click here to access its official website http://www.caminitodelrey.info
If enjoy rambling you will surely love “El Caminito del Rey”, as there are not many places in the world as stunning as this one, and we have the great fortune of having it close.
Enjoy nature during your holiday in Costa del Sol!
