If you are staying at Hotel Yaramar, you love Andalusia and you are a big fan of flamenco you might be interested in knowing that every Wednesday at 12:00 P.M in Plaza Virgen de la Peña in Mijas, if the weather permits, there is a free flamenco performance by a local group.

In previous posts we have recommended you to visit Mijas, not only because it is very close to Fuengirola, but also because of its typical Andalusian atmosphere so no doubt getting to see a flamenco show in such a beautiful setting is an experience worth living.

Flamenco appeared in the 18th century and its origins are not clear as they are impossible to get confirmed though many link them to the gypsies.

Flamenco is a very passionate form of art and gypsies can be found all over the world, though flamenco only belongs to Andalusia so for this reason in 2010 Unesco declared it one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity and of Andalusia.

Nowadays flamenco is very popular and it is very well known and appreciated all over Spain and the world, to the point that many tourists choose Andalusia as their destination because of it.

Here in Hotel Yaramar we would like to encourage you to make the most of the great weather we have in Costa del Sol by attending this great performance that the town of Mijas offers its visitors. This way you will be able to know a bit more about this music and dancing so typical from our wonderful region.
