As every year next Thursday the 28th of February is a bank holiday as we celebrate the Day of Andalusia, so for this reason today Hotel Yaramar would like to dedicate this post to Trinidad Huertas Cuenca, the first flamenco woman who conquered the Big Apple.
Trinidad was born in Malaga in 1857 and she was so ahead of her time that was the first woman dancing flamenco dressed as a bullfighter and the first in creating her own choreographies.
Before conquering New York this outstanding Andalusian woman had already succeeded in Paris, Mexico and Havana, becoming the first worldwide known flamenco star.
In New York her innovative dancing made “La Cuenca” seduce the American public with her Andalusian charm.
No doubt we are talking about a big flamenco artist that died in Havana at the young age of 32 and that due to her uniqueness, her creativity and her career has remained in the history of Andalusia as one of the first and most famous leading figures in flamenco.
Had you ever heard about this wonderful flamenco dancer from Costa del Sol? Do you love flamenco? If so, do not miss the amazing flamenco show that every Monday at 9:30 P.M takes place here at Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola.
