If you have had the fortune of having stayed with us before this time of year you might already know that these last few and upcoming days are very important in Los Boliches.
From Friday the 12th to Tuesday the 16th of July the Fair of Los Boliches is on, so if right now you are on holiday at Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, we recommend you visit the fairground as the fair is held there.
Tomorrow, Tuesday the 16th of July is in fact the most important day of this event as it is the day of Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of Los Boliches.
Although this is celebrated by all locals in Los Boliches it is lived in a different and a more intense way.
Tomorrow in fact at 12:00 P.M. there will be a mass in honour of the Virgin in the Church of Los Boliches.
Being a man of the sea is a very hard and risky job, so due to the protection they believe the virgin gives them every 16th of July many of them take her out in procession as a way to express their gratitude.
This procession starts at 8:45 P.M. is considered by many as the most unique and special of the year as it ends with the Virgin in the sea surrounded by small boats and fireworks.
