On our two previous posts we told you about two very prestigious golf courses in the Costa del Sol: La Cala Golf and Mijas Golf. Today it is the turn of the magnificent Chaparral Golf Club, located only 15 minutes away from our hotel and 30 minutes away from the airport.

Its location is the great protagonist of this golf course, not only because it is in the Mijas Golf Valley, but also because it is surrounded by a stunning Mediterranean forest and a Canarian pine one.

Its designer, Pepe Gancedo, aimed for this prestigious golf course to have unique features like: having 6 par 5, 6 par 4 and 6 par 3. This in fact is the only course in the Costa del Sol of these characteristics.

Another feature to highlight is its hole number 8, which creates great expectations due to its impressive views, as well as the great technique this hole requires.

Have a great experience in Mijas Golf

Today we would like to tell you about Mijas Golf, another great golf resort in Costa del Sol, very recognised not only because of the fantastic condition of its courses, but also because its staff provides a superb service.

Los Lagos and Los Olivos are the two golf courses included in the Mijas Golf complex. Located in the well-known Golf Valley of Mijas, in the northern area of Fuengirola, it is in a privileged location, only 15 minutes away from our hotel and 20 minutes from Malaga airport.

Los Lagos opened in 1976 and, years later it was the turn of Los Olivos. With a total of 18 holes, they were designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr following the “difficult par, easy bogey” philosophy.

Los Lagos, was recently renovated, and is considered one of the most renowned commercial courses in Costa del Sol. As its name suggests, it has nine lakes, which surround its wide paths. In Los Lagos the lakes work as natural obstacles in most of its holes.

Los Olivos, has not received that name at random either. In this case the reason is because it has olive trees arranged strategically by its paths. This course is ideal for professional players with great precision in their game.

Therefore, if the main characteristic of Los Lagos is its water and sand obstacles, the level of difficulty of Los Olivos is due to its trees and high greens.

Play golf at La Cala Golf Hotel Spa (Mijas)

We would like to introduce you to La Cala Golf, a unique complex in Andalusia in a superb location. Located in the Nature Park of the Sierra de Mijas, it has wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea and it is surrounded by native flora and fauna. The most outstanding feature of La Cala Golf is that it does not have only one golf course, but three: Asia Course, Europe Course and America Course. All of them have 18 holes and have been designed by the famous Robinson Cabell, so they are a real dream to any golfer.

For the most daring golfers we suggest the Asia Course. This was the first to be built and has short and narrow paths with numerous obstacles.

If you fancy a more relaxed game, but like a bit of a challenge, we recommend you the America Course, as it has bunkers and a steep topography.
