Hotel Yaramar looks after the environment

Hotel Yaramar not only looks amazing from the outside but also deep inside as for years we have done all we can to make it more environmentally friendly.

Everybody knows that we take good care of our guests, but not many people may know that we also take care of planet Earth. Doing it is not as difficult as it seems as with a bit of willpower and a bit of effort it is possible to change our bad habits.

These are some of the environmentally friendly measures we do take at Hotel Yaramar:

  • We have a department of environmental management.
  • We only print documents when it is strictly necessary.
  • On the 30th of March we contribute by saving energy during the “Earth Hour”. From 8:30 P.M to 21:30 P.M we use as little energy as possible and light some candles around the
  • Our guests are asked to leave a card on the bed whenever they want their sheets changed.
  • We change the towels when they are left on the bath/shower o whenever the chambermaid thinks it is
  • We use eco-friendly cleaning products and washing up liquids. They are biodegradable
  • We separate waste and we recycle paper and plastics.
  • The bulbs in the hotel use LED technology.
  • We have presence detectors in our public toilets.
  • When the room card is taken off the energy consumption in rooms is the minimum possible, not just in order to save energy but also for safety.
  • The electric energy we use is 100% from renewable sources.

Did you know that Hotel Yaramar was so eco-friendly? Take note, raise awareness and do your bit to help from home.

Planet Earth will be very grateful!

Besides this, there is another exhibition called “Sunny Days” with works by international artists Elaine Carlton, Margit Björklund y Sinikka Ahokas-Gröhn.

This is available until Friday the 22nf od March, from 09:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M, though this time is in the Tourist Office, also located in Avenida Virgen de la Peña.

If instead of visiting  Mijas Pueblo you are considering going to La Cala de Mijas in Mijas Costa, there is another great free exhibition available there, as Centro Cultural La Cala de Mijas homes a painting exhibition until next Monday the 25th of March,  that contains the works done by the students of the painting classes run by the Mijas Council.

If you like art and you have fun visiting exhibitions while on holiday, we hope you do not miss these 3 stunning free exhibits we just mentioned.

8th Edition of La Cazuela de la Abuela

The weather here might be absolutely brilliant, but it is winter after all, so there is nothing better than having some lovely comfort food, and this is why Fuengirola organizes the popular food route called “La Cazuela de la Abuela” around this time of year.

This year in fact will be its 8th edition and many local bars and restaurants will participate in it. From Friday the 8th till Sunday the 24th of March they all will offer a delicious casserole and a drink (glass of wine, beer, soft drink or water) for only 2€.

As in the past 6 years, our Rivera Beach Club will also participate this time with a tasty traditional casserole from Barbate (Cadiz) that has red tuna, potato, pepper, onion, carrot, wine and spices as main ingredients… It sounds lovely, right?

If you are currently on holiday in Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, and love Spanish food we certainly recommend you try the new amazing casserole our chef Salvador from the Rivera Beach Club has prepared for you all this year and to vote for it!

We also would like to wish Salvador best of luck and hope he becomes a finalist as in some of the past editions!
