A pair of weeks ago here on the blog of Hotel Yaramar we introduced you our new TUI production team, so today we have the pleasure to introduce you to “Clarity”, the fantastic resident duo that tour operator TUI has sent us over from the U.K.
“Clarity” is formed by Sarah Waugh and Lewis Orton.
Sarah is the vocalist, she is 22 years old and she is from Nuneaton, in Warwickshire. She studied Popular Music at University of Wolverhampton, met Lewis there and formed the duo together about a year ago after playing in several bands together for years.
Sarah started singing lessons when she was 16, though her love for music started much earlier as she started playing piano at the age of 7.
Sarah told us she originally got inspired to sing professionally by Adele, though in terms of favourite bands her guilty pleasure is definitely SClub 7!
Last summer when she graduated from University she taught at primary schools across the Midlands, but as she and Lewis fancied working abroad they decided to go for it, and this is why they are now here with us at Hotel Yaramar.
When we asked Sarah an interesting fact about herself she told us that when she was studying at university she had a tough first year and almost left to follow a completely different path but luckily, she didn’t.
When we asked her about Fuengirola she said she thinks it is an incredible place as even the small side streets are beautiful plus the weather is gorgeous.
The other member of “Clarity”, Lewis, is 23 and he comes from a small village in Leicestershire, right in the middle of England, called Barwell.
Same as Sarah, Lewis also studied Popular Music at University of Wolverhampton, and besides playing the guitar he also sings, though this is quite recent as his first concert singing was in May last year.
He loves lots of different music, but he initially was inspired to play guitar by British band Busted. He then started liking other bands such as Oasis and Arctic Monkeys.
Before playing at Hotel Yaramar, Lewis worked as a barman in a few different places as well as teaching guitar and music in primary schools. He also used to play with a Stereophonics tribute band, which was good fun.
When we asked him to tell us an interesting fact about himself he said once he fell over on stage in front of thousands of people, but he carried on playing the guitar throughout. He also adds that when he was a child he was famous in his village for being a devil child as he used to scream and have terrible tantrums.
He says he loves Fuengirola and its hot weather as he does not like the cold and that he is fascinated by our ridiculously long beach.
Talented Lewis and Sarah play at the Aquarium Show Lounge from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:30 P.M., so they come you come down to see them perform and for a chat as they would love to get to know you all!
Thank you for your time, guys! We hope you have a brilliant season!
