Have you fallen in love with Andalusia? Would you like to visit one of its beautiful white villages and have a typical Andalusian experience? Well, if that is what you are looking for, you don’t have to go too far as you can find all these in the neighbour town of Mijas.

Mijas is one of the most beautiful and popular white villages in Costa del Sol. It is located at approximately 400 metres above sea level and only a few kilometres away from Fuengirola. Also the access from Fuengirola in public transport is very easy as there is a bus to Mijas Pueblo every 25 minutes departing from the bus station.

When in Mijas, Hotel Yaramar recommends you to visit its Historical-Ethological Museum commonly known as “Casa Museo”, because not only you will love its typical Andalusian features but also its price as the entrance is free.

Located in the old town hall, this is a beautiful Andalusian house of white walls where you will be able to see how different Mijas was in the past through stuff like farming and fishing tools, a warehouse, oil mills or a typical old kitchen.

There is also a room were local pieces of art and crafts are displayed and a beautiful typical Andalusian patio where flamenco concerts are held in summertime.

Another interesting thing about this museum is that there is a replica of the bedroom of “The Mijas mole”, an old Major of the town that after the Spanish Civil War went into hiding in his own home for 30 years.

Visiting this museum means getting back on time and realising how much the area has changed due to the tourism boom.

Make the most of your stay in Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, and discover the beauty hidden in Costa del Sol; it is well worth it!
