Tonight is the last day of the year! 2012 ends and we welcome 2013!
Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, wishes you a very happy new year, wishing that 2013 is a much happier and prosperous year to you all.
Some of you will celebrate the start of the new year here, enjoying our company and also the incredible temperatures that we currently have in Costa del Sol…There is no better way to start the year than with amazing weather and great people!
As most of you know in Spain at midnight on the 31st of December people welcome the New Year eating “the 12 grapes”…Do you know from where this tradition comes? It seems that in late 19th Century or early 20th Century there was a big harvest of grapes, so this is the reason why we eat this fruit and not any other.
This started being something that only people in Madrid did in front of the famous clock in Puerta del Sol, but little by little this tradition got spread around Spain…interesting, right?
In your home countries do you do something similar? Do you have any good memory of a New Year’s Eve here in Hotel Yaramar? Have you ever managed to eat your 12 grapes on time? Did you have luck that year? Tell us on Facebook, we want to know!
In a few hours it will be midnight, we already have our grapes ready and we are also ready to start 2013 with a big smile… if the grapes in our mouths allow us to smile, of course!
Have a beautiful night! Happy 2013!
