Just 3 weeks ago here on the blog of Hotel Yaramar we told you about the great Fair of Malaga. Well, as fairs continue being the most important summer events on Costa del Sol now it is the turn of the beautiful hillside town of Mijas to get in a festive mode.
As every year, from the 5th to the 9th of September, Mijas celebrates its lovely fair, which is is in honour of its patron saint Virgen de la Peña.
During the 5 days it lasts there will many special activities and fantastic shows, being its amazing Flamenco Festival the most outstanding of them all.
The 8th of September (next Monday) is the most important day of the fair as it is the day of the patron. For this reason that evening Virgen de la Peña will be carried in a procession through the main streets of Mijas. If you have already visited this town but you have never seen a typical Spanish religious parade, Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, recommends you not miss a visit to Mijas next Monday… We are certain you will have a great time!
In previous posts about Mijas we have already explained you how easy and cheap it is to get there from Fuengirola thanks to the great bus service that connects both towns. The buses to Mijas are very regular as they depart every 25 minutes from Fuengirola bus station, which is located in the city centre. During the fair the service will get extended in order to make sure everybody can make the most of this beautiful event. Other good options can be going there by car taking the Mijas – Fuengirola A-387 road or by taxi, taking one by the entrance of our hotel.
Anyway, if you have any doubt about how to get there or what to do you can always ask our reception team.
Visit one of the most beautiful towns in Andalusia and enjoy its amazing fair!
