December starts today and at the Yaramar that is great news as something very important to us is coming soon: Geoffrey’s birthday!
One good day this lovely English gentleman came to our hotel and it didn’t take him long at all to have a very special place in our hearts.
Here at the Yaramar we all, both staff and guests, love and appreciate him lots, so for this reason today we wanted to dedicate this blog entry to him.
This Saturday, the 6th of December, Geoffrey will be 95, so we thought it would be a great idea to share with you some of the most important events that happened in his birth year: 1919.
In 1919:
- Bentley Motors Limited got founded in England.
- Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity got confirmed.
- The first transatlantic flight took place.
- The Treaty of Versailles got signed, formally ending World War I.
- King Alfonso XIII of Spain inaugurated the first line of Madrid underground.
- Afghanistan became independent of the United Kingdom.
- On the 11th of November First Remembrance Sunday observed.
And last but not least…
- On the 6th of December in Methley, Yorkshire, Geoffrey Harrison got born. A great man who, since he moved in to the Yaramar on the 14th of October 2009, has become a very important person in our lives.
Happy birthday, dear Geoffrey!! We wish you a very beautiful day full of love and happiness! You deserve all the best!
