Did you know that Malaga has its own Film Festival?

The Malaga Film Festival is one of the most important festivals in Spain and this year, from the 10th to the 19th of March, it will be its 26th edition.

The festival started in 1998 and its goal was to promote the Spanish film industry, as well as helping Malaga to become a modern and cultural city.

The red carpet will be set once again in Teatro Cervantes, in central Malaga, and more than 200 different productions will be presented there: documentaries, short films, Tv series and films.

The best film will be rewarded with the Gold Biznaga Award while the silver biznaga goes to the rest of categories.

The biznaga is one of the symbols of Malaga and consists of a bunch of jasmine flowers in the shape of a ball that gets sold around the city during the summer months.

The festival will finish on Sunday the 19th of March with a film marathon of the winning films in Cine Albeniz and with the closing concert of popular Spanish group Amaral.

If you are currently staying with us at Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, we recommend a visit to Malaga while the festival is on as the city looks even more beautiful than usual with its glamourous red carpet.
