25th International Festival of Fuengirola

29Apr

Are you currently having a great holiday with us at Hotel Yaramar? If that is the case, you can consider yourself lucky as one of the most important and awaited events in Fuengirola starts tomorrow.

The event we are talking about is the International Festival of Fuengirola, one of the most popular events in Costa del Sol.

As usual the festival will be hosted at the fairground, and this year it will be on from Tuesday the 30th of April till Sunday the 5th of May.

The fairground will home a total of 33 countries from across the globe, so this is no doubt the perfect opportunity to discover their local dishes, culture and typical music and dances without leaving Costa del Sol.

The International Festival of Fuengirola is one of the most consolidated and successful events in Costa del Sol and this is why this year we will be celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Although it has been hosted for many years, there is always something new and exciting about it. This year for example Canada and Estonia will participate in it for the first time and Japan and Jamaica will return after being absent last year.

While the festival is on, from 1:00 P.M to 4:00 A.M there will be lots of things going on and lots  to do at the fairground, though the most expected day is always when the traditional parade takes place. This year this stunning parade will be on Wednesday the 1st of May, which is a bank holiday in Spain as it is International Workers Day. The parade will start around 11:30 A.M in Plaza de España (town centre) and will arrive to the fairground at around 1:00 P.M.

Same as in previous editions there will be a free entry International Trade Fair that will contain some stalls where you will have the chance to all kind of products, including food from different countries.

Do not miss the 25th edition of the International Festival of Fuengirola! We are sure you will have a brilliant time!!

Craft Beer Festival in Mijas

08Apr

Can you think of something better tan a fresh beer?

Although it is an alcoholic drink drinking beer in moderation apart from calming our thirst can also have a positive impact in our health.

Beer is 93% water, so it helps us stay hydratated. It is also low in sodium and high in potasium. It helps us to prevent cardiovascular diseases and it contains good cholesterol. It is high in vitamin B and contains minerals which help us to prevent bone and neurodegenerative diseases. It mitigates ageing and in the case of women it helps to reduce the symptoms of menopause.

As you can see there are many good reasons to have a beer, so if you are one of those who really love having a good glass of this bubbly drink while enjoying some fresh air you will certainly like the plan we are going to suggest this week.

This week, from Friday the 12th to Sunday the 14th of April, La Cala de Mijas will hold a craft beer festival.

This craft beer festival is called “Birra & Art” and it will be set in the Boulevard of La Cala. On Friday and Saturday its opening times are from 12:00 P.M till 01:00 A.M and on Sunday, as it is its last day, it will be open from 12:00 P.M till 9:00 P.M.

There, apart from drinking some great craft beer, you will have the chance to have fun with the entertainment as there will be a DJ playing some great music.

If this weekend you are on holiday with us at Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, and you fancy a good beer do not hesitate to visit La Cala de Mijas… Cheers!!

8th Edition of La Cazuela de la Abuela

04Mar

The weather here might be absolutely brilliant, but it is winter after all, so there is nothing better than having some lovely comfort food, and this is why Fuengirola organizes the popular food route called “La Cazuela de la Abuela” around this time of year.

This year in fact will be its 8th edition and many local bars and restaurants will participate in it. From Friday the 8th till Sunday the 24th of March they all will offer a delicious casserole and a drink (glass of wine, beer, soft drink or water) for only 2€.

As in the past 6 years, our Rivera Beach Club will also participate this time with a tasty traditional casserole from Barbate (Cadiz) that has red tuna, potato, pepper, onion, carrot, wine and spices as main ingredients… It sounds lovely, right?

If you are currently on holiday in Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, and love Spanish food we certainly recommend you try the new amazing casserole our chef Salvador from the Rivera Beach Club has prepared for you all this year and to vote for it!

We also would like to wish Salvador best of luck and hope he becomes a finalist as in some of the past editions!
